It all started when…

Attending conferences and festivals in different parts of the country, the Shaw family, founding members of MYMF decided to put on their own songwriting workshop in their community. Ever since their first classes back at Ashland University, they have been focused on empowering songwriters everywhere. In 2019 the idea to solidify the organization came and Move Your Music Forward nonprofit was born. Not only providing workshops but MYMF seeks to provide musical opportunities for all walks of life especially underserved populations.
