Lifting up The Community One Song at a Time

 

It all started when…

Attending conferences and festivals in different parts of the country, founding member Chris Shaw and his brother Andy decided to put on their own songwriting workshop in their community. Chris took the helm in 2020 soldifying Move Your Music Forward as an official 501c3 non-profit. The mission is to empower musicians to take their craft to the next level. Monthly Song Shares, writing with underserved communities, Artist Self Care Days, and the annual Columbus Songwriter Summit are just a few of the programs MYMF has to offer. Fundraiser - September 24th 4p-7p

Come help us fund our mission one cone at a time. Proceeds with the 4p-7p hours will go toward MYMF. We will have performances by Hawa, Jamie Ravine, Nicole Hernandez, Confusions, and more!

This is where we hold our Artist Self Care Days. A great multi-faceted space that includes Reiki, Massage, Therapy, and Mindfulness activities.

UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITIES

Baked into the process is a goal of serving communities that are often overlooked. Keeping this in mind with everything we do, we look to amplify voices of the black and brown community by not only providing opportunities for them but to have representation on our own team. We pledge to not only bring music to communities like the elderly but give opportunities to musicians to perform for these communities. This uplifts the musicians and the communities they serve. We have worked in partnership with Story Point Senior Living and are looking to expand into other communities.  COLUMBUS SONGWRITER SUMMIT
