My Vision for Teaching

When I was younger my parents put me in a ton of music and art classes. It was great, but sometimes I felt like there was something missing. With some exceptions, I often felt like teachers were not very open to really figuring out HOW I learned, but more just interested in telling me what they knew. Art is really hard to teach because it’s messy and there’s no one way to teach. I approach teaching with the individual in mind.

My goal as a music instructor is to inspire people to make music that they want to make. Yes, there is a ton of technique, and nuts and bolts to music, but music to me is about the soul.

I strive to empower my students to find what they love and bring it to me and I can help them reach the next level whatever that may be.
